My involvement in pro-life ministry began over twenty years ago when I became a volunteer at the crisis pregnancy center in Petersburg, VA. I joined the staff here at Care Net Resource Pregnancy Centers when I helped to open the Williamsburg satellite office in 2005. I am the mother of three daughters and I live in Williamsburg where I attend Crosswalk Church.

One of the scriptures that we seek to model is Isaiah 61:1-3. It is our desire to "comfort all who mourn", to "bestow on them (our clients) a crown of beauty instead of ashes" and to proclaim a "garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair" over those we serve. God's faithfulness and goodness enables us to be a light in darkness. Praise Him!

I have been gladly serving as the Director of Operations at CRPC since October 2007. I am grateful to be able to serve in a ministry that is life affirming. Every age and every stage of life is represented here at Care Net. From our clients and their unborn baby to the elderly women who knit booties and blankets. Every life deserves to be honored. Just like the woman at the well, the client has an encounter here and she goes away changed for the better. No matter what was going on before, God opens her eyes. I never tire of seeing the great exchange in Isaiah 61. We see beauty for ashes in the lives of our young teen moms. Joy in place of mourning when a Mom presents a baby she was scared to carry, but did. And what an exchange for the post abortive woman, when she is blanketed with praise for her once heavy burden. I am encouraged by Jeremiah 1:5.

I’ve heard it said that if you find your passion you’d never have to work again. I am passionate about a ministry that equips, encourages, and offers hope and healing to a teen, a young woman and man in a crisis pregnancy, those suffering from a past abortion, or someone just needing to talk about “what’s next.” The Care Net Resource Pregnancy Centers is God-ordained and I’ve been privileged to be a part of this exciting journey since 1997 as a volunteer and then beginning in 1998 as a staff member doing what needs to be done. I encourage anyone who shares this passion to join us as a volunteer, donor, or church liaison to continue the great work the Lord is giving us to do and help spread the word about a life-changing ministry – right here on the Peninsula!!

Hope to the hopeless. That is what I live by. I have been involved with Care Net since January 2008. My heart is to see God glorified in all that I do. The men, women, and children that come into the Center are looking for help, and it is my pleasure to offer them not only help, but HOPE. I know that God is working in us and giving us the desire and the power to do what pleases Him (Phil 2), and that is what keeps me motivated! Jesus came to serve, not to be served, and that is what we at Care Net do every day…Serve our community so that God can be glorified!

God continues to amaze me! I am truly honored and privileged to serve in this life affirming ministry that responds to the heart beat of God. It is a tremendously rewarding experience to offer hope and guidance to men and women, while being able to speak on behalf of those who have no voice. There is no such thing as an unplanned pregnancy, God always has a plan! Every day at Care Net, I see God’s beauty and I realize “what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us” (1 John 3:1).
